Deputy Mayor Barbara Boulton, Trustee Dan Frechette, Trustee James Bray,
Trustee Eric Constance.
The Meeting was called to order
at 6:00 pm with the Pledge of Allegiance.
OLD
BUSINESS
A presentation was given by Mike
Campbell on the proposed Restore NY application for the rehabilitation of
Building #35, the former US Army Administration Building/Mess Hall on Pike Rd
at Madison Barracks.
PUBLIC
HEARING
A public hearing was opened at
6:15 pm
Dave Altieri, 205 W Washington
St, said he thinks it is a great project, probably the most significant project
in the Village in the last 20 years.
Karyn Cordero, 112 Ambrose St,
thinks it will be a great asset for the Village.
The public hearing was closed at
6:17 pm.
Resolution
to Support the Restore NY Grant Application and Authorizing its
Submission
to the Empire State Development Corporation (ESDC)
For
the Village of Sackets Harbor
WHEREAS, the village of Sackets Harbor
has demonstrated ongoing support for local community economic development
initiatives and projects, and the
preservation of community resources through their adopted Local Waterfront Revitalization
Program ( LWRP) and their Local Development Corp (LDC) and
WHEREAS, the Board of Trustees of the
Village of Sackets Harbor is aware of a grant offering through Restore NY grant
program that would generate funding opportunities for economic development
initiatives to address blight and substandard properties which will attract,
create and sustain local employment opportunities, and increase the Village’s
tax base, and
NOW,THEREOF,
BE IT RESOLVED,
that the Board of Trustees of the Village of Sackets Harbor now hereby supports
and approves the submission of a grant application to secure funding under the
RESTORE NY grant program to enhance public
infra-structure and address blight and substandard properties within the
Madison Barracks Planned District located in the Village of Sackets Harbor.
Motion to Adopt the Resolution to
Support the Restore NY Grant Application and Authorizing its Submission to the
Empire State Development Corporation (ESDC) made by:

A motion was made by Trustee
Constance and seconded by Trustee Frechette to authorize legal counsel to apply
to the PSC Siting Board for Intervenor Funds for legal and engineering costs
and to limit expenditures to the amount of the award. Vote 5 ayes (Reilly,
Boulton, Frechette, Bray and Constance), 0 nays.
Lonny Reinhardt, DPW
Superintendent, asked for information on the Grants from the Seawall and the
Boat Launch projects. The information will be forwarded to him by Kris Dimmick
and Dave Altieri.
He also reported that there is
storm water infiltration in the sanitary system at Madison Barracks.
A motion to adjourn the meeting
was made by Trustee Frechette and seconded by Trustee Bray at 6:42 pm. Vote 5
ayes (Reilly, Boulton, Frechette, Bray and Constance), 0 nays.
