The meeting was called to order
at 4:30 pm by Chairman Jon Constance. Members present: Jon Constance, John
Kenna, Larry Barone, Floyd Dame and Theodore Misiewicz.
Minutes from the November 17,
2015 regular meeting and the November 24, 2015 special meeting were approved as
presented. Vote 4 ayes (Constance, Kenna, Barone and Dame). Theodore Misiewicz
abstained.
A public hearing was opened at
4:33 pm to hear comments regarding #16-12Z
Joel Buskirk, 109 Boultons Beach Rd, Sackets Harbor. The applicant would like
to place a manufactured home on the lot. He is requesting a rear set-back
variance. There were no comments during the public session. A brief letter of
support was read from Barb Boulton. Also Kimberly Hayes was heard from in
support of the building. The public hearing was closed at 4:37 pm. The
application was approved in a motion made by John Kenna and seconded by Floyd
Dame. Vote 5 ayes (Constance, Kenna, Barone, Dame and Misiewicz), 0 nays.
A public hearing was opened at
4:38 for application #16-14Z for Michael
Walling, 305 E. Main St. Sackets Harbor. The applicant would like to
construct a new garage on the site where a previous one existed. He is
requesting a side set-back variance for the non-conforming lot. Neighbors Jay
Kramer (309.5 E Main), Bob Quinn (311 E Main) and Cecilia Perkins (223 E Main St.),
spoke in support of the project. Sue Walling also had a letter of support from
the Borath’s.
The Board was concerned with the
proximity of the proposed building to the neighbors in the event of fire. In a
motion made by Jon Constance and seconded by John Kenna, the board approved a
permit for building up to 2 feet from the property line if the building is
constructed with a 1 hour burn-through, as per county code. This would be
amended if written permission was obtained from County Code Enforcement for
reducing the set back. . Vote 5 ayes (Constance, Kenna, Barone, Dame and
Misiewicz), 0 nays.
John Kenna made a motion to
adjourn at 4:58 pm and was seconded by Jon Constance. . Vote 5 ayes (Constance,
Kenna, Barone, Dame and Misiewicz), 0 nays.
