The meeting was called to order
at 4:00 pm by Chairman Jon Constance. Members present: Jon Constance, Theodore
Misiewicz, John Kenna, Larry Barone. Floyd Dame was absent.
Motion was made to approve minutes
for the December 20, 2016 meeting by Theodore Misiewicz, second by John Kenna.
Vote 4 ayes (Constance, Misiewicz, Kenna, Barone), 0 nays.
#17-09z John Babcock, 428/430
Ontario St. Sackets Harbor. Applicant seeks approval for new garage
construction on the property and requests front and side yard variance.
The meeting was open for a public
hearing at 4:03 pm in a motion made by John Kenna, second by Larry Barone. Vote
4 ayes (Constance, Misiewicz, Kenna, Barone), 0 nays.
Applicant John Babcock presented
2 letters, one from John and Loretta Babcock and Tom and Genie McCay in support
of the garage construction on the property. He would like to tear down existing
garage and build a new one. The new garage would be the same foot print,
actually smaller than the existing. Height would be a bit higher, 20’ vs 17’
high. He has 2 parcels joined to make one conforming lot. Looking at the
measurements, a front variance is not required, due to it has more than the 15’
setback.
Jim Wilson (neighbor 2 doors
down) was in attendance to support John Babcock.
Motion to allow 8’ variance,
building 7’ from the line made by Theodore Misiewicz, second by Larry Barone.
Vote 4 ayes (Constance, Misiewicz, Kenna, Barone), 0 nays.
The public hearing was closed at
4:10 pm in a motion made by John Kenna, second by Larry Barone. Vote 4 ayes
(Constance, Misiewicz, Kenna, Barone), 0 nays.
